“Musas Vol. 2” is the second volume of the “Musas” album series by Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade. This album features a collection of covers of classic Latin American songs, reimagined and rearranged in Natalia’s signature style. The album opens with “Danza de Gardenias,” a soulful and passionate rendition of a song by the legendary Mexican singer-songwriter, Amalia Mendoza. Other standout tracks on the album include “Alma Mía,” a beautiful and haunting ballad originally performed by the Argentine singer, Lila Downs, and “Un Derecho de Nacimiento,” a powerful protest song by the Chilean folk group, Inti-Illimani.
In addition to the covers, “Musas Vol. 2” also features two original songs written by Natalia herself. “Danza de Gardenias” and “Mexicana Hermosa” are both love songs that showcase Natalia’s songwriting skills and her ability to capture the essence of Latin American romance and passion.
