To Pimp a Butterfly is a critically acclaimed album by American rapper Kendrick Lamar, released in 2015. The album explores themes of racism, oppression, and self-love, and features elements of jazz, funk, and spoken-word poetry.

“King Kunta” is a funk-inspired track that addresses Lamar’s personal struggles with success and fame.

Other standout tracks include “Alright,” an anthem of hope and resilience in the face of police brutality and racial injustice, and “The Blacker the Berry,” which addresses internalized racism within the black community. Throughout the album, Lamar grapples with his own identity and place in the world as a black man, and his lyrics are often deeply personal and introspective. The album concludes with “Mortal Man,” a spoken-word poem that reflects on the legacy of black artists and activists who have fought for social justice throughout history.
