Our Used Vinyl Grades
Images of used records at Record Foundry show the actual records you will receive. We grade our used vinyl using the industry-standard Goldmine grading system.
Below is what you should expect based on each grade assigned by our team:
- NM (Near Mint): No visible defects. No writing, stickers, spindle marks, or any other imperfections on the label. These records appear unplayed and unhandled.
- VG++ (Very Good Plus Plus): Records might have some very light wear including minor sleeve scuffs or other superficial marks that do not affect playback.
- VG+ (Very Good Plus): Shows light signs of wear that may include sleeve scuffs, very light scratches, or other superficial marks. Minimal impact on playback quality.
- VG (Very Good): Similar to VG+ but with imperfections that are more pronounced and larger in number. Some light background noise may be present during playback.
- VG- (Very Good Minus): Multiple light scratches or scuffs. May have isolated defects such as a scratch that can be felt with a fingernail. Some ongoing noise is expected during playback at this grade level.
- G (Good): Records have many imperfections, including but not limited to deep scratches. Playing them will produce noticeable background noise, clicks, and pops.
- F (Fair): Records are cracked, warped, or skip/repeat when played. Significant playback issues.
All grading is performed visually and through test plays by our experienced team.
