Comes on smoke vinyl LP.
A deeply moving homecoming that strips away the arena-rock laser beams to reveal the beating heart of a generational talent.
Billy Strings has spent the last few years melting faces at sold-out arenas, bridging the gap between die-hard bluegrass traditionalists and wild-eyed jam band disciples. He’s the kind of guitar virtuoso who can turn a three-minute breakdown into a twenty-minute psychedelic trip. But on Me / And / Dad, Strings stops running up and down the highway to cross off the most important bucket-list item of his career: cutting a record with the man who taught him how to play.
That man is his dad (stepfather, technically, though the bond is absolute), Terry Barber. Barber is an amateur picker from Michigan who raised Billy on a steady diet of Doc Watson, Bill Monroe, and backyard jam sessions. When Billy was a kid, Terry was forced to pawn his prized limited-edition Martin D-93 guitar just to keep the family’s lights on.
Co-produced by Billy Strings and acoustic music wizard Gary Paczosa (famed for his pristine work with Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton).
