White Pony

Comes on 2LP vinyl album.

White Pony (2000) is often regarded as Deftones’ breakthrough album, merging alternative metal, post-hardcore, and shoegaze influences into a seamless blend of aggressive and ethereal soundscapes. With this album, the band expanded on their earlier work, layering complex textures and experimenting with more atmospheric and introspective elements.

The album is dense and multifaceted, containing everything from heavy, distorted riffs to haunting, ethereal passages, often within a single track. Lead vocalist Chino Moreno’s signature vocals range from harsh screams to eerie, melodic crooning, while the band’s instrumental arrangements balance hard-hitting guitar work with lush, ambient atmospheres.

Tracks like “Change (In the House of Flies)” and “Passenger” (featuring Maynard James Keenan of Tool) stand as highlights, showcasing Deftones’ ability to create emotionally charged music that moves between dark, heavy, and melancholic. White Pony captures a unique blend of vulnerability and aggression, exploring themes of alienation, desire, and personal transformation.

Critically acclaimed for its maturity and depth, White Pony is not just a metal album—it’s a piece of art that continues to influence countless bands and listeners, with its genre-blending sound still resonating decades later.
