Victim of Love

Victim of Love is a raw, emotional, and deeply soulful album that showcases Charles Bradley at the height of his musical and emotional power. Released in 2013, this album blends the classic sounds of 60s and 70s soul with Bradley’s own tumultuous life experiences, which are translated into each song’s heartfelt performance.

With the title track, Victim of Love, a scorching, horn-driven anthem that speaks to the anguish of love lost, while Bradley’s powerful, raspy voice conveys the intensity of heartbreak. Throughout the record, his vocals alternate between tender vulnerability and fiery anguish, making each song feel like an intimate confession. Tracks like Strictly Reserved for You and Love Bug Blues embrace the pain of love with a seductive groove, as Bradley’s voice channels deep sorrow and longing.
