There’s always been something cinematic about Kali Uchis — the way her voice drips honey over heartbreak, the way her albums feel less like tracklists and more like love letters you’re not supposed to read. On Sincerely, she leans all the way in. This isn’t just a record. It’s correspondence. After the bilingual sprawl of Red Moon in Venus and the sharp pop instincts of Orquídeas, Sincerely, plays like a late-night confession — softer, but sharper where it counts.
“Sugar! Honey! Love!” sets the tone: minimal percussion, tremolo guitar, and Uchis’ voice floating front and center. She sings like she’s inches from the mic, barely breathing between lines. The track reportedly features production from longtime collaborator Dylan Wiggins, who gives it that woozy, lo-fi glow she’s mastered without sanding down the intimacy.
On “All I Can Say,” the tempo ticks up slightly, sliding into disco-adjacent R&B with a bass groove that feels indebted to early ’80s Sade records.
Closer “ILYSMIH” strips things back to piano and layered harmonies. No features. No gloss. Just Uchis delivering a final message that feels both romantic and resigned. The production gradually blooms — soft strings, distant choir textures — before fading out like a letter sealed with a kiss. What makes Sincerely, compelling isn’t bombast — it’s control. Kali Uchis doesn’t chase radio hooks here. She curates atmosphere.
