About this record
Comes on vinyl LP.
The Now Now is the sixth studio album recorded by the British virtual band Gorillaz, released on 2018 via Parlophone and Warner Brothers records.
The Now Now is Gorillaz’s introspective and sun-drenched journey into a more personal and melodic soundscape. Released in 2018, this album steps away from the densely layered collaborations of previous works, focusing instead on Damon Albarn’s songwriting and vocal delivery. With a distinct 80s synth-pop influence, The Now Now evokes a feeling of warm nostalgia, while still maintaining Gorillaz’s signature blend of electronic and alternative elements.
Tracks like “Humility,” “Tranz,” and “Sorcererz” create a laid-back, almost melancholic atmosphere, exploring themes of isolation, reflection, and the search for connection in a digital age. This album is a testament to Gorillaz’s ability to evolve and reinvent themselves, offering a more intimate and emotionally resonant experience.
